About Simi

I’m a multidisciplinary artist working across clay, acrylic, drawing, video, and whatever materials feel right for the moment. I’m less interested in perfect outcomes and more interested in what happens while making — the questions that come up, the conversations that unfold, and the way curiosity shapes the work as it goes.

Teaching is an important part of my practice. I lead art workshops in community centers, hospitals, and shared living spaces, working with people of all ages and backgrounds. These settings have shown me how art can bring people together, create space for reflection, and help build connection without needing prior experience or technical skill.

I’m drawn to how different materials invite different responses. Clay tends to slow people down and make things feel more approachable. Painting, writing, and mixed media open space for personal stories and experimentation. Moving between mediums helps me stay attentive to how people engage, and to what each material makes possible.

I don’t see my practice as something finished or fully defined. I’m still learning through the work, and that sense of discovery is what keeps me engaged.

I'll tell you anything, you just have to ask.
